Looks great, awesome work! I personally am a fan of the slimmer model, but the bulkier concept is still very cool, and if the consensus is that the bulkier one is better, so be it. I would like to point out that I'm not sure that it makes sense for those grenades (or whatever they're supposed to be)...

Could you post screenshots without bloom, and post the images themselves? Also, I think your muzzle blasts could stand to be a little less round around the edges (though it's hard to tell when looking at a screenshot with bloom enabled what to do).
