Point release – alpha 22.1

Post by Anomalous »

We've just done a point release to address some bugs which sneaked into Alpha 22…

This release fixes the following problems:

  • Custom layouts weren't being used

  • Various menu options weren't working properly

  • /me was horribly broken

  • Wallwalk toggle, team overlay etc. were effectively disabled

  • Text input (via the consoles) was broken for non-ASCII

There are also a few miscellaneous build fixes, mostly affecting Windows when using MinGW, and one adjustment to the GL3 renderer.

Click here to read this article on the main site!

Debian and Ubuntu packages (squeeze, wheezy, sid; 12.04, 12.10, 13.04) may work on derivatives

OFFEND! … no, that's not right… ATTACK!

<ZdrytchX> deleting my whole profile AND autogen/keybindings configs fixes me not being able to intialise the game (menu still crashes) but connecting directly using apelsin does load the loading screen BUT does not enter the game and EXITS WITHOUT ERROR.

Basically what happened:

  1. I tried to connect using apelsin after installing alpha 22.1. Crash with error before window forms.
  2. Connect using shortcut with +irc_connect: Same result.
  3. Deleted/renamed profiles folder, and the keybindings/autogen.cfgs and tried again.
  4. Results in the window opening for the shortcut but closes after showing "Create Profile" menu without crash log and crash error.
  5. Results for opening with apelsin is the same, but the map levelshot and load indicator appeared before crash and the console logged all the GL loading and initialisation messages but does not show any pk3 files being loaded before exiting.

I tried to reinstall the game from scratch and I even deleted my profile. I used Unvanquished-0.22.1-windowsx64-installer.exe and I still have the same problem. Upon starting unvanquished I get a "deamon.exe has stopped working" message with these details:

This release is not working at all for me.Option menus are impossible to use with keyboard because once I'm on an entry like 'quality' using up and down or left and right all change the value and I can't switch to an other menu entry anymore. And the mouse is broken, it's inverted (in the menus) and sensibility is at the minimum so it takes like a lot (like a lot) of time and effort to do anything.I tried switching inverting state and putting mouse sensitivity to maximum in the option, it was hard to do and did not change anything.BTW, I did delete the .Unvanquished folder.

I get this too (except my Locale ID is 1035 instead of 1029)

Unv crashes on startup for my Mac. I've deleted my old vms files, but Unv still won't work. Could you tell me the exact files I need or don't need? Unv wasn't worked once for me for several updates.
