Some April fools are not really that preposterous after all

Chrome integration, Inexor developers (Sauerbraten fork) seem to be doing it already: https://github.com/inexor-game/code/wik ... 0Interface. It would also be very nice to read Wiki pages for alien classes in Unvanquished itself.

Double normal mapping - actually looks good, would be nice to have a slider to control normal mapping strength in settings.

Pixel support - will probably be good for users of older computers who want to run the game in windowed mode.

Systemd integration - might make it more convenient for Linux users to manage servers.

We plan on having more filled-out pages on the buy menu, including displaying 3D models on it, but adding support for an entire browser would be kind of overboard.

Stronger normal maps would look horrendous. We are trying to keep them subtle, and respecting the wishes of the artists who created them.

Pixel mode would be hilariously difficult to play in.

I fully agree on systemd though, let's get rid of sub-standard system management systems!

Except there'll be no tips thereby increasing the elitism of the game.

Maybe I'm too used to offset mapping in Xonotic... Textures still look kind of flat without it.

It won't be unless you set it to like 320x240. One could, for example, use 1280x720 in a 1980x980 window (minus taskbar, etc.). It's still about 2x fewer pixels to render.

Systemd is the future of "free" software, it's one of the things that will eventually turn "free" software into Free Software it was meant to be! It's unification: what's Microsoft and Apple have been doing all these years. Desktop GNU/Linux is slowly moving towards becoming a PRODUCT, for PEOPLE.

Normal map "intensity" can be changed with r_normalScale. There's also r_specularScale for reflections.

Also, systemd "integration" is up to package maintainers and would ideally match the platform it is distributed on.

Steam also has chrome integration. I think if we did this, we would probably do something a la steam overlay.
