Re: Reactor concept art
Nice concepts and very nice model :) Looking forward to seeing the finished result!
Re: Reactor concept art
If Dandoombuggy says it looks good, it's really good.
Re: Reactor concept art
I agree, nice level of detail. Looks really "mechanic". Thumbsup
Re: Reactor concept art
thx guys, good to hear ;)
Just a small update:
the models is now fully unwrapped and ready for texturing. It has 8.632k tris and will be using 2 1024x1024 textures (arms+misc, core+foot) to get at least
an approximately equal pixel density compared with the turret.
Re: Reactor concept art
Nice model so far! As for the concept, the detail is too much. Its so busy you dont' know whats going on. I think What you have now is good. As for the colour, should try some industrial colour. It really depends on how ur set is too.

For people who don't get kharnov's twitter updates...
Re: Reactor concept art
I asked Stannum about the seam issue, chris. He had this to say on IRC:
<kharnov> Stannum, how did you fix the seam on the human's head?
<kharnov> chris would like to know
<kharnov> he's having that issue with his reactor
<kharnov> something about mirroring
<Stannum> eeh
<Stannum> from up close
<Stannum> or only from far?
<kharnov> unsure
<Stannum> the human head was a mipmap filtering issue
<kharnov> what would he do in both cases?
<Stannum> don't pack uvs too tight
<Stannum> and pad the texture around uvs
<Stannum> so that texture smapling on mip maps doesn't return black/untextured
Re: Reactor concept art
And the reactor is now finished!
Re: Reactor concept art
Just awesome.
Light maps could use a tone-down, if this is not the peak of a pulsating effect.
